Each week, a discovery is found, or rediscovered, at Bellefontaine Cemetery and Arboretum. Each tour begins at the Willow Gate House, where the document or record that sparked the discovery will be reviewed and discussed.
Following a brief overview of the latest historical finding, attendees will travel through a portion of the cemetery in their own vehicles (EPW – Escort, Park, and Walk). Once gathered at the discovery site, the 90-minute walking tour will begin.
The remainder of the tour will explore the people, symbolism, select cemetery design highlights, and additional cemetery insights encountered along the route. Participants will walk approximately 1.5 miles of moderate terrain across the grounds of the oldest Garden/Rural Cemetery west of the Mississippi.
Space is limited and reservations are required.
